The Faculty of Health Sciences at the Nelson Mandela University supported the National Transplant Games that took place on the 13th and 14th of July 2018 in Port Elizabeth. Various departments from the Faculty of Health Sciences volunteered their services, staff and students to help with the event.

Human Movement Science, Biokinetics and Sport Management students helped with the road race and cycle race on the Friday and the athletics events that took place at the South Campus Stadium on the Saturday. It was a cold wet two days but the athletes and volunteers remained cheerful.

Athletes from all over the country came to take part in the games. They have all been given a second lease at life and participated with such determination.
