NMMU Soccer Charity Cup Tournament

The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University third year Sport Management students are organising the annual NMMU Soccer Charity Cup on the 13th and 14th of May 2011 at the NMMU south campus soccer fields. There will be an U13, U16 and U19 division and a round robin format will be played. The aim of the event is to help develop soccer at a grass roots level. The tournament also provides a practical learning opportunity for the third year Sport Management students and they have the chance to give back to the community.

The students have chosen to support the House of Resurrection Haven in Salsoneville and visited the charity on the 26th of February 2011. All proceeds from the NMMU Soccer Charity Cup tournament will go to this most deserving charity. The House of Resurrection Haven provides a home for children living with HIV and AIDS. The Bongalethu play school on the premises is also supported by the House of Resurrection Haven.
