We are excited to share a recent highlight from our ongoing work in schools — the handover of sports equipment to Chapman High School.

Chapman High School is one of the schools that participated in the National Hypertension Study, where learners took part in blood pressure screenings and anthropometric measurements such as height and weight. This initiative forms part of a broader effort to understand and address childhood hypertension in South Africa.

The donation of sports equipment was made after a need for physical activity and sports resources was identified during our engagement with the school. As part of our commitment to promoting holistic learner well-being, we were pleased to support efforts that encourage healthy, active lifestyles among young people.

This donation was made possible through the joint efforts of Department of Human Movement Science & CIES.

We extend our appreciation to the staff and learners of Chapman High School for welcoming us into their space and look forward to continued collaboration in supporting youth health and development.
