As an update to Jonathan Rumbelow’s (current FIFA/CIES/NMMU student) appointment as South Africa Coach/Manager of the South African Triathlon team which participated in the ITU Africa Continental Championships in Agadir (Morocco) we have the following excellent results to report.

The team, comprising 21 athletes, won numerous medals namely 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze for a total tally of 13 medals.

In so doing South Africa obtained 5 out of a maximum of 6 slots available for the junior men and ladies race for the world Triathlon Champs in London on 14th September 2013.

ITU points gained also means that 2 men and 2 ladies are placed in a favourable position for the "Automatic Olympic qualification" positions for Rio 2016. Our 3 Para-Triathlete's are also in the same position for the Rio 21016 Para Olympics. This is the most SA has ever had in the history of triathlon in the sport.

Well done Jono and the SA triathlon team!
