Dezi Rosenblatt a Biokineticist in the Biokinetics and Sport Science Unit at the Nelson Mandela University, took part in the Africa States Bowls Tournament that took place in Namibia, Windhoek from the 27th -30th of June 2023.

The SA team competed with the likes of Zambia, Kenya, Namibia and Zimbabwe in the respected disciplines of the trips and fours. The SA team acquired a bronze medal for both of the disciplines. Overall, the team won a gold medal with one of her teammates acquiring silver medals in the singles and pairs disciplines. What a fantastic result!

“It was a tough competition, particularly in the female’s discipline as it has gotten stronger in the last couples of years but it is always an honour to represent my country” says Dezi.

It has been a successful year for Dezi, we wish her all the best in the upcoming provincial competitions remaining for the year.
