The 2011 Edition FIFA/CIES/NMMU Programme off to a Flying Start
The 5th edition of the FIFA/CIES/NMMU programme in sport management got underway with a bang on Monday 3 October 2011 with a formal opening ceremony followed immediately by the commencement of the first block of lectures which included an international speaker from FIFA. That evening saw the students attend the certificate presentation ceremony of the 4th edition students. The rest of the week will see the students under the guidance of Vernon Oosthuizen and John Burger as they tackle management and marketing concepts.
Professor Rosa du Randt (NMMU), Vincent Monnier (CIES) and Solomon Mudege (FIFA) officially welcomed the new recruits on the first day of their lectures and encouraged them to maximise the opportunity they had been granted in being selected for this sought after and prestigious qualification.
In his guest lecture, Solomon Mudege, an alumnis of this qualification and now Marketing Alliances Manager at FIFA, addressed the students on the topic of Sponsorship and the FIFA 2010 World Cup. Solomon's lecture was extremely well received by all who attended.
